<p>“Over the next several days until Wednesday daytime, we'll experience the influence of an extension of low pressure originating from the East. This will bring increased humidity to the eastern areas and lead to rising temperatures at the surface level. Expect the formation of convective clouds primarily in the daytime, (especially in the East), with the cloud cover gradually moving towards the inland areas, including Dubai and Sharjah,” added Habib.</p>
<p>Shedding light on when the weather might improve, he added: “Over Friday-Saturday, the low pressure will move gradually towards the south. Then the amount of cloud will gradually decrease, bringing light to moderate rain in general.”</p>
<p>Local and external factors are responsible.</p>
<p>“The influence will also stretch eastward from Abu Dhabi due to local factors. However, on Wednesday night, another scenario unfolded."</p>
<p>Habib pointed out that the country will be impacted by an extension of surface low pressure from the Red Sea, accompanied by humid southeasterly winds.</p>
<p>“A similar low-pressure extension in the upper atmosphere from the north will also impact the conditions.” He elaborated that consequently, clouds will migrate from Saudi Arabia towards the UAE, commencing unstable weather conditions ‘late Wednesday night’.</p>
<p>“These clouds will evolve into convective formations, yielding rainfall ranging from moderate to heavy. By Thursday, these clouds will progress westward, affecting Abu Dhabi with moderate to heavy showers, before advancing further northward towards Dubai and Sharjah,” he added.</p>
<p>Climate crisis?</p>
<p>When inquired if the record-breaking rainfall on April 16 experienced in the country, leading to widespread disruption, was partially influenced by the climate crisis, the veteran weatherman said: “The cause of the rainfall on that particular day, whether it was influenced by global warming, is still being investigated and researched.”</p>

<p>The announcement marks phase two of the airport’s expansion. DXB will continue to serve as the primary hub “meeting the needs of 100 million plus guests over the next few years as phase two of DWC takes shape”, the operator of both airports said in a statement.</p>
<p>Dubai-based Emirates Airline called the airport its "future home" as it shared photos of the AMI.</p>
<p>Set to be five times the size of DXB, the airport will span 70 square km once fully operational. It will have five parallel runways and five passenger terminals housing more than 400 aircraft gates.</p>
<p>In November last year, a top official had revealed plans to replace DXB — which is the world’s busiest airport — with a bigger one. Initial forecasts suggest that DXB’s traffic will surpass 88.8 million passengers in 2024.</p>
<p>“Al Maktoum International Airport will enjoy the world's largest capacity, reaching up to 260 million passengers,” said Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. “New aviation technologies will be employed for the first time in the aviation sector.”</p>
<p>With the emirate building an “entire city” around the airport in Dubai South, demand for housing for a million people will follow, said the Dubai Ruler. “It will host the world's leading companies in the logistics and air transport sectors … Dubai will be the world's airport, its port, its urban hub, and its new global centre.”</p>
<p>The first phase of the project is expected to be ready within 10 years with capacity to accommodate 150 million passengers annually.</p>

<p>وقال خليفة الزفين، الرئيس التنفيذي لمؤسسة مدينة دبي للطيران، إن المطار سيوفر احتياجات من القوى العاملة والسكن لأكثر من مليون شخص يعيشون ويعملون في دبي الجنوب "التي كانت قيد التطوير والتشغيل منذ عام 2007".</p>
<p>تم افتتاح مطار AMI لأول مرة في عام 2010 لعمليات الشحن، تلته رحلات الركاب في عام 2013. وسيساهم في التخفيف من الانبعاثات البيئية.</p>

'description' => '<p>For brothers Affan Tanvir and Suleiman Tanvir, engaging in rescue missions is nothing new. They have been carrying out rescue operations for the last four years, drawing on their extensive experience of saving people from desert terrain. When the record-breaking rain hit the UAE on April 16, they immediately put their skills to use.</p>
<p>Their recent mission started at 8am on April 16, while they were on their way to Dubai Airport to pick up friends whose flight had been cancelled. “It rained a bit at night and in the morning, and the roads were waterlogged in many areas on April 16. As we were travelling, we rescued many cars, trucks, and minivans from waterlogged roads. However, submerged routes prevented us from reaching the airport, prompting us to redirect our efforts to assist those in need,” said Affan.</p>
<p>All this they could undertake is because of their loyal companion — their off-roading SUV, a modified Nissan Patrol Safari that has enabled them to undertake various challenging tasks. “Our vehicle is tuned and modified to tackle diverse challenges. Its power and modified ground clearance allow it to navigate through waters and rescue people,” said Affan.</p>
<p>During their journey back from the airport, they encountered many motorists unsure how to retrieve their vehicles from the water. “We pulled their vehicles out without starting their engines. Once they were on safe ground, they could drive away. A few vehicles didn't start,” said Affan.</p>
<p>After working until noon on April 16, they took a brief rest before resuming their rescue missions in the evening. “As the heavy rainfall continued on April 16, we received hundreds of calls for rescuing people stranded in villas and cars on waterlogged streets,” said Affan.</p>
<p>Their most challenging mission unfolded on the evening of April 16, extending into the next morning without a pause. “Many had been at offices on April 16, and upon returning, they found their cars and minivans stuck on waterlogged streets,” said Affan.</p>
<p>“Numerous individuals were hesitant to leave their vehicles, so we approached them and escorted them to safety. We even extracted vehicles from the water on the same day,” added Affan.</p>
<p>Residents of the Al Hoshi neighbourhood in Sharjah and owners of Front Line Group, the brothers, along with their company employees, got into action again on April 17 after 4 pm, responding to calls to rescue people and stranded vehicles. Over four days, they worked tirelessly, accumulating over 50 hours of rescue efforts.</p>
<p>“We rescued over 200 people from homes and roads, and we pulled out more than 80 cars, along with many minivans and buses,” said Affan.</p>
<p>Previous rescue operations</p>
<p>They frequently receive calls from locals in Ras Al Khaimah reporting individuals stuck in the desert as it is only a 50-minute drive from their residence. "We get a lot of calls to rescue people struck in the desert. Whenever we want to go off-roading or on a desert drive, we primarily focus on the Ras Al Khaimah desert, where many vehicles get stuck, so that we can help them,” said Affan.</p>
<p>Their determination and skills have garnered recognition from law enforcement. “A few policemen in Sharjah have requested our contact information for future missions. We feel really proud and blessed to live in the UAE,” added Affan.</p>
