After their day jobs in Al Quoz, Dubai, residents don't call it a day. They leverage their diverse skills to run side businesses, transforming from plumbers, electricians, or cleaners during the day to tailors, vegetable vendors, or juice makers at night.

One such resident, Ahmed Ashfaq, a mason by day, becomes a juice maker after work hours. He sells freshly squeezed pomegranate, orange, and grapefruit juice, earning extra income. Ashfaq, who worked at a juice center in his hometown in Pakistan, finds his previous experience beneficial in his current venture, selling over a hundred cups daily.

Another resident, Ashraful, a painter by day, pursues his passion for tailoring in the evenings. Dreaming of opening his own tailoring shop in Dubai one day, he stitches shirts, alters garments, and fixes torn clothes after 7.30pm.

Nadeem Khan, a cleaner at a private firm, turns into a vegetable and fruit vendor in the evenings. Setting up his stall by 4.30pm, Khan caters to residents looking to purchase fresh produce after work.

Muazzam Shafi, a restaurant helper during the day, runs his own eatery in the evenings. Utilizing his cooking skills acquired in a restaurant in Lucknow, India, Shafi entered into a partnership to set up a stall in the market. The additional income supports his family and fuels his dream of owning a restaurant someday.

These night businesses offer a variety of products, including ready-to-eat food, vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, clothes, shoes, perfumes, mobile phones, electronics, and services like barbering and tailoring. The products are affordably priced to cater to the labor community, with adherence to health, safety, and food safety standards ensured by authorities."
