Situated in the mountain's shadow, the Shees Rest Area has recently opened, coinciding with the onset of the UAE's winter season. Located just 1 kilometer away from Shees Park, which boasts an artificial waterfall, this rest area was officially inaugurated over the weekend by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

During a visit by Khaleej Times, the atmosphere was pleasantly cool as Khor Fakkan had recently experienced heavy rainfall. The Shees Rest Area comprises 58 shops offering a range of items, including fresh fruits, domestic plants, carpets, perfumes, camping equipment, as well as restaurants and cafes. The plant shops are known for their famous Dh1 potted flowers, and customers were seen buying numerous vibrant plants. The carpet shops feature products with intricate designs and colorful patterns displayed on floor-to-ceiling racks. Nearby, you can find UAE-grown fruits and vegetables available at wholesale rates. Shoppers could purchase boxes of mangoes, oranges, papayas, guavas, apples, and watermelons, all for just Dh90.

Furthermore, these shops offer packets of fresh fruits pre-sliced into bite-sized portions for Dh10 and corn on the cob for Dh5. Enjoying a hot beverage won't break the bank either, as a cup of karak tea is available for just Dh1. Additionally, there is a shop dedicated to camping gear. An outdoor theater, covering an area of 430 square meters, is surrounded by lush greenery, with a 24-square-meter projector screen displaying films.
