After four months of consecutive increases, the UAE Fuel Price Committee on Tuesday lowered petrol and diesel prices by 41 fils a liter for November 2023.

Super 98's price was slashed by 11.9% to Dh3.03 a litre; Special 95's was slashed by 12.3% to Dh2.92; and E-plus's price was slashed by 12.57% to Dh2.85 a litre. Diesel's price was slashed by 15 fils to Dh3.42 a litre.

A deregulation policy announced in August 2015 aligns UAE fuel retail rates with global rates every month by revising local rates at the end of every month.

The drop in petrol prices is a major relief for people in the sales and transportation industries. This will help me save around Dh150-Dh200 in savings a month, which is a decent amount for the middle class,” said Dubai resident Anil Kumar, who drives regularly to the Northern Emirates for business.

A Sharjah resident who regularly commutes to Dubai, Abu Al Hassan, is also thrilled about the fuel rate reduction.

"I am delighted with the reduction in petrol prices. After the rise in fuel prices for the consecutive last four months, this news brings not only relief for me but also tangible savings for my daily commute. For residents like me, it's definitely a relief," Al Hassan said.
