The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention has reported a surge in the number of COVID-19 cases, marking the highest daily cases reported in 2023. The report released on Sunday indicates that 254 cases of the COVID-19 virus were detected, along with 79 recoveries and no deaths. As a result, the total active cases in the country have risen to 15,880.

The new cases were detected through 20,664 additional tests, as the UAE government has ramped up its testing efforts in order to identify new cases and contain the spread of the virus. To date, over 199,589,904 PCR tests have been conducted in the country.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the UAE as of March 19, 2023 stands at 1,055,127, with 1,036,898 total recoveries. However, the death toll remains at 2,349.

The UAE government continues to prioritize public health and safety by taking necessary measures to control the spread of the virus. It has implemented various measures, including mandatory wearing of masks in public places, vaccination drives, and temporary closures of public spaces, to curb the spread of the virus.
