A major fire broke out in Khalifa City A in Abu Dhabi on Monday afternoon, sending thick black smoke billowing into the sky.
Witnesses reported a fierce blaze encompassing a corner of a large building site, with smoke reaching high into the construction cranes on the site.
Emergency services are understood to have got the fire under control by late evening. It is not yet known what caused the blaze or if there were any injuries.
