It’s has become a common problem these days with most of the Expats. As a routine visit, may expats move to their home country during March-April for their Annual holidays but this year it was different, people moved to various locations but due to pandemic & subsequently the Ban on International flights, they could not return back. 

This happened with one the Expat in UAE, due to pandemic he could not return back & in the meantime, his sponsor cancelled his sponsorship. He got stuck in a different situation where in he can’t visit the country without proper paper work & he could not operate his Bank Account from his native country. He was in a great trouble as did not have Internet Banking Facility & his Debit Card also got expired in April’ 20. When he needed some funds to serve his family, he could not operate his bank Debit card.

 Now, the situation is awkward, he can’t go back to UAE just to make his Bank Account operative; neither can he avoid his requirement. He seeks help from a renowned Web News portal. This news portal contacted the Banks for information on this situation. 

The Banks suggested few steps by which he can close his UAE Account & get his amount back. According to a bank, customer has to visit the bank & fill up the forms for closure of the account, if they can’t visit their own branch, they can visit any of the Branch of the bank & do these formalities. If at all, one is outside the UAE & at there is no Branch in that country, he can write a Mail to the dedicated customer care ID, write an Application for the closure of the Account. In return, the bank would forward certain forms & Documents, on the customers registered email address, which need to be filled by the customer with Signatures at appropriate places & send it back to the Bank Officials via Mail/Courier. On receiving the forms & documents, the bank would close the account after proper Due Diligence.

The process may vary with different banks, but it is possible for any expats to close the account & get his legitimate amount.
