Stay informed about UAE's mandatory children's vaccinations on the AlHosn app. Discover the importance of updated vaccination certificates for school entry. Learn how this initiative promotes a healthier nation.

In the United Arab Emirates, ensuring children receive mandatory vaccinations is set to become more efficient and accessible with the upgraded AlHosn app, according to Dr. Hussain Al Rand, the assistant undersecretary for Public Health at the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP).

As a crucial measure to protect children from diseases and promote overall well-being, mandatory vaccinations will soon be tracked through the AlHosn app. This digital platform, originally designed for Covid-19 contact tracing and health testing, has evolved into the nation's primary tool for managing vaccinations.

The AlHosn app's upgrade will encompass comprehensive vaccination records for children from birth until they reach the age of 18. This development aims to simplify the process for parents, ensuring that their children receive essential vaccinations on time. Importantly, Dr. Al Rand emphasized that children who do not have updated vaccination certificates on the app will not be permitted to attend school.

The National Immunization Programme in the UAE consists of two phases, as explained by Dr. Nada Al Marzooqi, the director of Public Health and Prevention at MoHAP. The first phase covers vaccinations given from birth until the age of 18, with periodic administration. The second phase focuses on seasonal flu vaccines for individuals of all ages and different demographic groups.

Among the mandatory vaccinations for children in the UAE are those targeting tuberculosis, tetanus, pneumonia, diphtheria, HPV, and more. Some vaccines may require extended doses and boosters during the school-age period, all of which will be meticulously documented and updated on the AlHosn app.

To promote the health and well-being of children, Dr. Al Marzooqi encourages everyone to regularly check their children's vaccination status and administer any required doses, particularly those protecting against common childhood diseases. It is essential for every resident in the UAE to have the AlHosn app, as it will serve as the central platform for vaccine updates, ensuring a higher percentage of child vaccination coverage nationwide. Stay informed, keep your child protected, and support a healthier future for the country.
