
The Dubai Civil Defence announced on Sunday that 75 percent of the emirate has already been disinfected.
In line with the National Disinfection Program undertaken by the UAE government, the civil defense said aside from streets and public places, it also had disinfected some 490 accommodations and conducted inspections in 813 building.
Last week, Dubai announced extension of the nationwide drive for another seven days to stifle the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The UAE’s total number of coronavirus infections stands at 6,781 cases, with 1,286 recoveries, as of this posting.
The country’s multi-pronged preventive response and preparedness are among the most remarkable worldwide, according to the Global Response to Infectious Diseases (GRID) index, a ranking devised by the Institute of Certified Management Accountants in Australia.
