Dubai: About 250 licensing plates comprising three, four and five digits will be up for grabs in the Roads and Transport Authority’s upcoming online auction.
The Licensing Agency of RTA will offer these plates in its 53rd online auction, RTA said in a press release on Friday.

The plates on offer bear codes H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, and T, it said.
The registration of bidders will start on Sunday. The bidding will commence at 8am on June 10 and continue for five days.
Sultan Al Marzouqi, director of vehicle licensing at the Licensing Agency, RTA, praised the wide public participation and the positive competition marking open and online auctions.

There are several channels for registration to take part in the auction such as logging on to RTA’s website (www.rta.ae) or visiting any of RTA’s customer happiness centres in Dubai to get assistance in completing the registration process.
The potential bidder is required to pay a security deposit amounting to Dh5,000 along with Dh120 as the participation fee before the start of the auction.
The amount is payable by credit card or through cheque.
In case of unsuccessful bids, security deposits shall be refunded to clients in the same payment method, RTA said.
To participate in the auction, the bidder is required to have a vehicle registered in Dubai or a driver licence issued from the emirate.
“A dedicated team at RTA’s call centre has been furnished with all information related to the auction, and stands ready to respond to any public inquiries relating to procedures of participation or payment through the toll-free number 8009090,” said Al Marzouqi.
