DIFC launched an artificial intelligence (AI) and coding license on Tuesday to attract AI companies and coders from around the world. The initiative is part of the UAE's Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031.

This initiative is the first of its kind in the world, and it was launched in cooperation with the UAE Artificial Intelligence Office.

Companies with the license will be able to work in DIFC Innovation Hub, which is home to the largest cluster of FinTech and innovation companies It houses over 500 firms, ranging from start-ups to global unicorns, representing more than 60 percent of all GCC FinTechs.A license also provides employees working in those companies with the opportunity to obtain UAE Golden Visas for ten years.

UAE announced in July 2021 that it would team up with the world's largest technology giants such as Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Cisco, IBM, and LinkedIn to set up 1,000 major digital companies within five years.By 2026, the initiative aims to attract 100,000 coders to the UAE.
