The violations found at sites in Abu Dhabi included:
Failure to secure the entrance of the construction site
Unsafe work on the highlands
Neglect of installing a temporary wall at the site
The randomly storage of materials
Dumping of waste in a way that constitutes an obstacle for the workers
The non-maintenance of fire prevention equipment and devices.

“This campaign strives to provide a safe and healthy work environment for workers and to ensure compliance with the requirements of the municipality and the Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health Centre,” said Abu Dhabi Municipality.
Last March, Gulf News reported that a crane collapsed at a worksite in Abu Dhabi and damaged seven cars parked in the vicinity.
The tower crane collapsed while it was being lifted by a smaller crane at a worksite located in Al Zahiyah area (formerly known as Tourist Club area), off Hamdan Bin Mohammad Street.
The tower crane and its boom had reportedly been much heavier than the smaller crane that was lifting it.
