Dubai: Three men have been accused of stealing four tyres of a car and leaving the vehicle on four bricks in a sandy parking lot, a court heard on Monday.
The Yemeni owner of a rent a car company was said to have left one of his vehicles parked in the sandy parking spot in Al Ghusais in February.

The next morning when he went to get the car, he found it parked on four bricks, according to records, and four tyres stolen.
Primary police interrogations found that a Jordanian salesman, an Emirati employee and an Emirati student had been involved in the theft and they were arrested.
Prosecutors charged the three suspects of stealing four tyres worth Dh4,000.

The suspects pleaded not guilty when they appeared before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Monday.“We did not steal the tyres. The complainant has waived his complaint,” the Emirati student told presiding judge Urfan Omar.

“Then why did you get a waiver if you claim to have not stolen the tyres?” presiding judge Omar asked the suspects.“Police and prosecutors accused us of stealing the tyres … but we did not steal anything. We had to talk to the complainant to drop the case,” replied the student.
The Yemeni complainant told prosecutors: I had parked my car in a sandy area in Al Nahda at night.
When I went to get it the next morning I found the four tyres stolen and the car parked on bricks on which I informed the police about the incident."
The Emirati suspects were cited as admitting to prosecutors that they stole the tyres at night.
