Police have arrested a man in connection with a serious hit-and-run in Ras Al Khaimah.
The accident happened at around 4pm on Monday. According to Ras Al Khaimah Police, a pedestrian reported that the driver fled the scene after knocking down a biker.

The Emirati man was riding his motorbike when an Asian driver ran him over with a silver pick-up truck.
In a panic, the truck driver quickly left the scene and failed to help the seriously injured biker.
Col. Ahmad Al Naqbi, director of Traffic and Patrols Department, said that the central operations room immediately dispatched a traffic patrol unit, an ambulance and paramedics to the scene.

Within three hours of the reported incident, police were able to identify and arrest the fugitive driver.
“The biker was gravely wounded and transferred to hospital for treatment. The truck driver has since been arrested, and the case referred to concerned legal bodies where further action will be pursued," said Col. Al Naqbi.
