UAE has introduced the remote work visa for professionals who live in UAE while they work for companies in other parts of the world. You can likewise get your family on this one-year work visa.

Even if you gave birth to a baby in UAE during a remote work visa then you can even apply for the infant's visa online through the website of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICA)- www.ica.gov.ae

ICA on December 8, has posted the steps that one needs to follow to utilize this service online.

How remote work visa holders can apply for newborn’s residence visa online in UAE

 

Documents Needed

During the application process, you need to upload the following documents.

1. Coloured photo of the Child.

2. Child’s passport Copy.

3. Medical insurance.

4. Medical fitness test result. 

5. Virtual Work Proof - Outside UAE. 

6. Salary Certificate (US$3,500) or equivalent in foreign currency. 

Additional Documents Needed

Below mentioned documents are needed to show proof of employment and the validity of the sponsor’s residency:

1. Sponsor’s passport valid for at least six months;

2. Attach proof of his work for an entity outside and that the work is done remotely. 

3. Attach proof that he has earned a monthly income of a minimum of $3,500 (Dh12,855)

4. Attach a valid health insurance policy within the country.

The service cost and fees details:

Request Fees: Dh100

Issue Fees: Dh100

E-Services Fees: Dh28

ICA Fees: Dh22

The total cost of the service is Dh250.

Steps to follow for issuing a residency visa for new-borns online:

1. Go to the website – ica.gov.ae. On the home page, you will see ‘smart channels’ which is a vertical menu tab on the right.

2. Click on the second option – ‘e-form’. It will then redirect you to a page, which will present three options – individual services, establishment services, and typing centre services.

3. Choose the Individual services category to access the residency visa services.

4. As you click individual services, you will be redirected to the log-in page.

How to create an account on the ICA website:

In case you don't have an account, enter your email ID. Subsequent to entering your email ID, you will be sent a verification email. Once you have received the email, click on 'complete registration', after clicking this, you will get an account in ICA. Enter your Emirates ID number, your telephone number, and date of birth. After this, you will get a verification number through SMS on your registered phone number. Then, your account registration is complete.

You can also use your UAE pass to log in to the website.

5. After creating an account or signing in through UAE Pass, you will come to the ‘Smart Services’ page. There will be various services related to tourists, Emirates ID, Golden Visa requests, and UAE residents. To register your infant for a residency visa, scroll down and click on the service- ‘Residency– Virtual Work Residency – People inside the country - Issue Residence.’

6. The residency visa application consists of four categories:

a) Applicant Information

b) Identification Information of Sponsor (Service Beneficiary)

c) Request Information

d) Passport information

Identification Information of Sponsor (Service Beneficiary)

You would then have to fill in the following details:

• ‘UAE Unified Number’.

• Visa file number. Your file number is on the UAE Residence Visa page of your passport.

• UAE Identity Number. This is your Emirates ID number.

Request Information

1. Select Relationship (Daughter/Son)

2. Fill in the name of the child in English 1st then the Arabic name will automatically fill in the name.

3. Select the nationality of the child.

4. Type in place of birth in English and Arabic (Type it in English first and the Arabic name of the place will be filled in automatically).

5. Mother’s name in English and Arabic.

6. Select Qualification, profession, and enter the name of the workplace.

7. Select the religion and faith/sect.

8. Fill in the monthly income of the sponsor.

Passport information

1. Select passport type.

2. Select passport type.

3. Fill passport issue date and expiry.

4. Type passport issue place in English and Arabic.

5. Select passport issue country.

The Last step of the online application process:

Complete the passport information and click on next, and pay the total cost of fees which is Dh250. You can pay the fee online with a credit or debit card or with e-dirham. Once you made the payment, the application process is completed. You will get the residence visa by email.
