A Sharjah Police officer arrested an Arab man within two hours of receiving the complaint after he fatally stabbed a woman on Friday.

It was reported to the police that a person known to the woman's mother had kidnapped her daughter. At 3.15 pm, the call came into the police station. According to the police, she told them they had a dispute in one of the car parks.

A police investigation determined that the woman was attacked inside the car as evidenced by the surveillance cameras at the site. Before fleeing with the car, the man stabbed her several times. Police later found him hiding in a car on a beach. Colonel Faisal bin Nassar, the Deputy Director of the Department of Criminal Investigation, says the entire operation was completed in two hours. 

Public prosecutors have taken over the investigation of the case before it is sent to court.

Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police Saif Al Ziri Al Shamsi praised the investigation team for its quick work in solving the crime in record time.
