A Dubai construction company's owner has been fined Dh1.075 million for failing to pay workers' salaries, the Public Prosecution announced on Saturday.
Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Prosecution charged the company's director with non-payment of wages. It was found that 215 workers at the firm weren't given their salaries for two months.
Authorities said that the accused admitted that they were unable to pay their employees due to financial challenges within the company.
The court ordered the business owner to pay a fine of Dh5,000 per worker - a total penalty of Dh1.075 million.
