The man had travelled outside the UAE. When he returned, his account was empty.
A customer of a local bank in the UAE was shocked to find that his account balance had been reduced to zero from Dh860,000 while he had travelled outside the country.

Police investigations revealed that two fraudsters had tricked a telecom company and the bank so they could write the cheques and steal the money.

They were accused of forging five cheques and emptying the balance in the bank account, an Emarat Al Youm report said.

When the victim approached the bank, he was told that he had written the five cheques with all of the balance to one of the accused persons.

Dubai Police investigations revealed that the two accused had used a fake power of attorney to get control of the bank account, and tricked the telecom company to get a new SIM card linked to the same account.
