March 14 holds special significance for Abu Dhabi-based parents Haleema Musthafa and Thaiseer Abdul Kareem, as they have welcomed three children on that exact date over the past nine years. Their daughter Tanisha Tahani was born in 2014, followed by sons Muhammad Emin in 2018 and Hyzin Hamd on March 14 this year. The family is overjoyed by this extraordinary and rare occurrence in childbirth.
The delighted parents, originally from the Kannur district in the Indian state of Kerala, shared their feelings of happiness and disbelief with Khaleej Times. "We are thrilled. Allah has blessed us with a third child on the same day of March 14. This is an unbelievable feeling. This holy month of Ramadan has become extra special for the family," said proud mother Haleema.
Father Thaiseer considers this a divine gift and emphasized that the pregnancies were not planned. He shared, "Tanisha is now nine years old, Emin is five, and the newborn is two weeks old. The first two children were born four years apart. And we became parents for the third time this month. This is Allah's gift. You can never plan things like childbirth to be exactly on a particular date. We are excited and overwhelmed."
Thaiseer, a category manager at LuLu Group International, revealed that Tanisha was born in Kerala, while the two boys were born in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Pathukutty Mohammed, a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology at Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi, noted that this occurrence is incredibly rare. "I remember the siblings of baby Hyzin Hamd distributing sweets. I had no clue that all three were born on the same date. It is extremely rare to have three children born on the same day. I haven't heard about such a case in my career. Maybe this is the first such instance in this region. The baby was born on his due date. Both the mother and baby were normal and healthy."
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, a family with five siblings born on February 20 holds the current record, documented in 1966. The random odds against five single siblings sharing a birthdate are one in 17 billion.
Thaiseer revealed that they might have more children in the future, but they are not yet planning for it. The family is currently looking forward to celebrating the three birthdays in a grand manner next year, especially Hyzin Hamd's first birthday.
