Lulu Group, a retail powerhouse, has just launched its latest branch in the prestigious Dubai Mall. This sprawling 72,000 square feet outlet is poised to cater to the millions of visitors flocking to the mall.

The grand inauguration of this in-mall Lulu hypermarket brings Lulu Group's store count in Dubai to an impressive 24. This new outlet focuses primarily on an array of essentials, including groceries, fresh food, fruits and vegetables, bakery items, health and beauty products, stationery, household goods, IT products, and fresh flowers. This massive establishment marks the largest in-mall hypermarket within the Lulu Group's portfolio.

One notable feature of this new outlet is the introduction of self-checkout options, providing shoppers with a convenient and efficient way to complete their purchases.

The grand inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, and chaired by Yusuff Ali MA, the Chairman of Lulu Group.

Lulu Group has been on an aggressive expansion path, extending its presence within the Gulf region, India, and other global markets. Just last September, they celebrated the opening of their 10th hypermarket in Bahrain and their 15th in Kuwait. Additionally, they announced a substantial investment in India, amounting to billions of dirhams.

In line with its global growth, the UAE-based retailer has also expanded its global sourcing operations, establishing new centers in Italy and Poland. This move is part of their strategy to enhance their product offerings, with a particular focus on the healthy and diet category.

As the population in the UAE continues to grow, so does retail spending. A study by Majid Al Futtaim revealed a significant 13 percent growth in retail spending across various sectors, including leisure and entertainment (29 percent), fashion (25 percent), hypermarkets and supermarkets (11 percent), and general retail (9 percent). This surge is largely attributed to the increase in international visitors to the UAE, which more than doubled to 14 million in 2022.

Yusuff Ali MA, Chairman of Lulu Group, expressed his enthusiasm about this new venture, saying, "We are extremely happy and excited to join hands with Emaar to open our newest hypermarket at The Dubai Mall, which is the world’s biggest and most prestigious shopping and leisure destination, welcoming over 100 million visitors every year from around the world." He emphasized Lulu Group's commitment to delivering a world-class shopping experience to the diverse multinational population residing in and visiting Dubai. Furthermore, he acknowledged the growing demand for internationally sourced products and pledged to offer high-quality products at the most competitive prices in the market.

In summary, Lulu Group's new in-mall hypermarket in Dubai Mall is set to provide a comprehensive shopping experience for visitors, with a wide range of products and the added convenience of self-checkout options. This expansion is part of Lulu Group's ongoing growth strategy in various global markets, including the UAE, India, and beyond. As retail spending continues to rise in the region, Lulu Group aims to meet the evolving demands of its diverse customer base.
