In the event that you have recently got your Emirates ID renewed, you are likely to have received an SMS from your mobile service provider asking you to update your mobile registration records with the new card.

Users of Etisalat, Du, and Virgin Mobile can update their registration documents within a few minutes using mobile services in the UAE.

According to Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) regulations for the registration of mobile numbers, it is mandatory to update your Emirates ID with the telecommunications service provider. If you do not update your Emirates ID, all mobile numbers or accounts linked to it will be suspended and disconnected. The instructions in this article will help you update the Emirates ID associated with your mobile number online in just a few minutes.

The process of updating your Emirates ID for Etisalat

Step 1: Setting up the UAE Pass app and account

Before starting the renewal process, download the UAE Pass app on your smartphone. For residents and citizens of the UAE, the UAE Pass is their national digital identity.
You must then have a verified UAE Pass account. You can find information on how to create a UAE Pass account here.

You should then make sure that the app has a valid Emirates ID. We have explained how to download digital Emirates ID through UAE PASS.  

Step 2: Register your new Emirates ID on Etisalat’s app

1. Get the 'My Etisalat' app on your Apple, Android, and Huawei device. Log in using your UAE Pass. 
2. On the UAE Pass app, confirm your log-in.
3. You will see a reminder to update your Emirates ID on the Etisalat app's homepage. Click 'Update Now' to complete the process. You can also tap on the profile icon at the bottom of the screen and choose 'Update my Emirates ID'.
4. then, Click 'Continue with UAE Pass'.
5. Choose the account you wish to update and tap on ‘agree and continue’.
6. Then, go to the UAE Pass app and allow Etisalat to access your Emirates ID. Tap on 'Allow Document Sharing'.
7. Return to the Etisalat app and review your details, then enter your mobile number, and tap 'Submit'. You will receive a confirmation from Etisalat once your Emirates ID has been updated.
8. Accept the terms and conditions.
9. Next, you will receive a confirmation SMS from Etisalat stating that the registration renewal request has been successfully submitted and is now being verified by Etisalat. Additionally, you will receive a request ID for tracking.
10. Within a few hours, you will receive a second SMS confirming your registration has been completed and your mobile number has been linked with your Emirates ID.

Those without a UAE Pass: Without a UAE Pass, you will need to visit an Etisalat customer care center and show an Emirates ID card.

The process of updating your Emirates ID for Du:

There are three ways to update your Emirates ID for your Du mobile number:

1. Online at myaccount.du.ae (Du Website).
2. Through the Du app, which is available for both Apple and Android devices.
3. Visiting Du stores. 

Online Through Du Website (myaccount.du.ae)

1. Visit the Du website (myaccount.du.ae) then click 'Update ID' on the menu bar.
2. Enter your mobile number next. After a few seconds, you will receive an OTP that you must enter. You will then need to upload a copy of your Emirates ID.
3. Choose the account linked to your mobile number and Emirates ID.
4. You will receive an SMS confirming your registration and Du will validate your Emirates ID within 48 hours. You will receive a notification via SMS once the process is complete.

Through Du Mobile app

To update your Emirates ID, you must have a UAE Pass account and your renewed Emirates ID must be added as a document to UAE Pass. Follow these steps:

1. Using your UAE Pass, log into the Du app and tap the menu icon (which has three lines) at the bottom of the screen.
2. Select 'Update ID' and then 'Login with UAE Pass'.
3. Choose the mobile numbers you want to renew and tap on 'Continue with UAE Pass'.
4. After that, you will be directed to the UAE Pass app on your phone. Click on 'Allow Document Sharing'. Upon enabling the document-sharing feature, Du will be able to access your Emirates ID information.
5. Click on 'Proceed'.
6. In the Du app, you'll receive a notification that Emirates ID updates are being processed. Upon validation of your Emirates ID, Du will send you an SMS confirming the renewal of your mobile registration.

By Visiting Du stores

The mobile registration renewal service can also be requested at a Du customer service center, and you'll need to provide your Emirates ID card to complete the process.

The process of updating your Emirates ID for Virgin Mobile

Users of Virgin Mobile can update Emirates IDs through the Virgin Mobile UAE app, or at Virgin Mobile kiosks, or at Virgin Megastore outlets.

Follow these steps if you wish to complete the process online:

1. Get the Virgin Mobile UAE app for AppleAndroid, and Huawei devices. You need to log in to your profile.
2. Click on  the 'More' option can be found at the bottom of your mobile screen (recognized by three dots).
Then, tap your name.
3. You will be taken to your account. Click on 'Update your ID'.
4. Choose the numbers you want to update and click 'Continue'.
After that verify your Emirates ID details by entering the last four digits of your ID and date of birth. Click 'Continue'.
5. You will need to scan both the front and back of your Emirates ID in the app.
6. Next, review the details you entered and click "Continue".

The app will then notify you and an SMS will be sent by Virgin Mobile that your request to update your ID has been confirmed. Virgin Mobile states that verification takes up to 24 hours, and users will receive an SMS when it is complete.
