His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has decreed that the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority's scholarship department will issue full-ride university scholarships for employees' children. 

UAE citizens' children who earn less than Dh50,000 a month, retired Sewa pensioners, as well as children of deceased Sewa pensioners, or those benefitting from social services, are eligible for a full scholarship, as stated in the Mubasher programme.

Employees or former employees who earned more than Dh50,000 a month, are business owners, or are deceased and their children receive their pensions, are eligible for a 50 per cent scholarship. 

According to a spokesperson for Sewa's scholarship department, the Ruler's decree affects Sharjah citizens who's children attended either public or private schools.
