Amid the rapid spread of the new Omicron variant, UAE has announced that the citizens, who are willing to travel abroad need to obtain the booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. If you are registering for the COVID-19 vaccines in the UAE, you are likely familiar with the word 'MRN'. 

If you are new to using the DHA app for medical assistance and you don’t what exactly the DHA app is then you are at the right place. We will provide you with all the details you want to be familiar with the Medical Record Number and how you can generate it while applying for your vaccination.

First of all, What is MRN? MRN or Medical Record Number is a unique generated number by Dubai Health Authority (DHA), which is used to facilities and systems as an identification number of a patient´s medical history and that treatment he received.

Now the question is How to Generate an MRN? If you do not have any medical history or you do not remember your Medical Record Number then you can create one by using the DHA app or by visiting Dubai Health Authority Official Website 


How to generate MRN in dubai

When you click on the above website link you will be redirected to fill in your Emirates ID number, which is the “ID Number” just above the center on the front of your Emirates ID card. As you enter your Emirates ID number, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. After filling in the OTP, you will receive your MRN number. You can use this MRN to register your COVID-19 vaccination appointment in Dubai.

In case the number linked with your Emirates ID is no longer in use by you then you can also change the Emirates ID-linked phone number with the one you are using currently. 

Step-by-step process to change your Emirates ID-linked phone number:

1. Visit the ICA Smart Service Website.

2. Enter your current nationality, as mentioned in your Emirates ID. 

As soon as you enter your nationality, it will ask you for your File No., which is mentioned on your resident visa right above your passport number.

3. Enter your Emirates ID number.

4. Enter your name in English same as it is on your Emirates ID.

5. The name in Arabic fills out automatically.

6. Enter your passport number.

7. Select your date of birth as per the DoB on your passport.

8. Enter the last date of entry into UAE stamped on your passport.

9. Enter your email address.

Once you filled the form, another form will pop up right below it, where you will ask to enter your mobile number and a valid address.

select the box which says registered mobile number. Here, you will enter your new mobile number.

You will receive an OTP on the mobile number you have entered for verification. Verify the number, finish the captcha verification process and proceed. 

Verification and review your application

Here you need to review your application and all your details. Make sure all the information entered by you is accurate.   

Payment (Pay the charges)

After filling all the forms, you will be redirected to the payment page. The charge of applying to change the mobile number linked to your Emirates ID is AED 52.10

After completing this procedure, you will receive an invoice for the payment in your email id for the payment you have made. Your phone number will be updated in 3 – 7 days.

You can check the status of your Emirates ID by visiting the ID Card Status page of the ICA website. There you need to enter your PRAN (application number) or IDN number (The PRAN number is available on your Emirates ID application form, whereas the IDN number is an actual Emirates ID card number) in the slot and click on ‘check’ to find out if the update has been made. In case the application has been rejected, you will receive a refund.
