The Dubai authorities have announced the opening of three new night swimming beaches. It is possible for residents and tourists to swim any time - even after sunset when lifeguards usually signal the end of the swimming season by blowing their whistles.

Dubai Municipality said night-swimming beaches have been built at Jumeirah 2 and Jumeirah 3 as well as Umm Suqeim 1. The lifeguards can monitor swimmers with bright lighting systems.

Electronic screens display messages that increase safety awareness among beachgoers.

The beaches have qualified lifeguards who use state-of-the-art rescue and emergency tools to ensure the highest safety benchmarks. Night swimming timelines at the beaches will be from sunset to sunrise, the municipality said.

At night, the Dubai Municipality urges beachgoers not to go into the sea from other areas and to swim only in designated zones. The municipality stressed the importance of compliance with beach rules and regulations, advising parents and guardians to keep an eye on their children at all times.

Beachgoers are also reminded to follow the instructions of lifeguards and maintain the highest level of cleanliness possible.

"The new facilities will further enhance Dubai's reputation as a beach tourism destination," said Dawoud Al Hajri, director-general of Dubai Municipality. The emirate's beaches will remain some of the city's most compelling outdoor attractions as Dubai Municipality continues to develop them.

"A wide variety of beaches in the emirate, each with its own unique charm, offer residents and visitors the chance to enjoy vibrant seaside dining and a variety of activities. As part of Dubai's unique tourism, lifestyle, and leisure proposition, the beaches are key attractions."
