The UAE has launched a comprehensive healthcare package for tourists and their families for just Dh149.

The package by Mulk Med Healthcare announced at the India Club in Oud Metha, brings healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, health insurers, and global health experts under one platform.

Approved by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), the Mulk Med Privilege Health Card will be available for tourists, as well as students, corporates, communities, individuals, and families, visiting the UAE, covering their healthcare needs through unlimited 24/7 online video consultations.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, Dr Nawab Shafi Ul Mulk, president, and co-founder of Mulk Med Healthcare, said that they have tied up with 100 hospitals and 300 pharmacies across the globe and are collaborating with more healthcare groups. “We have tied up with most of the reputed hospitals in the UAE, such as Aster, Al Zahra, Zulekha, Prime, and many more,” revealed Dr Shafi.

Privilege card holders can even benefit from a wide range of services like 24/7 online consultation, get medicines delivered to their doorstep, avail of diagnosis, and even surgery, if a tourist faces medical complications during their trip to the UAE, said Dr Shafi.

A visitor will be eligible for comprehensive medical coverage, added Dr Shafi, who mentioned that the validity period of the coverage is 90 days. “Our coverage for tourists is also valid for pre-existing chronic conditions - but only in the case of an emergency,” added Dr Shafi.

The duration of approval is one day, with emergency cases given top priority – they will be approved in minutes, said Dr Shafi, adding that people of any age group can avail of the package.

Tourists can also apply for travel packages through the company’s website and can also apply from various partnered ticketing platforms. “We have plans to partner with Emirates and other ticketing platforms,” he added.

Tourists who would like to apply for the package only require an ID of their country, and a passport and will need to answer a few questions on the company’s website.

Nawab Shaji Ul Mulk, chairman of Mulk International Group, said they have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Zimbabwe to implement Mulk virtual hospitals and digital healthcare platforms across the country. Mulk Med Healthcare network will connect multiple diagnostic facilities, laboratories and express pharmacies there, enabling 24/7 live video consultations with its panel of physicians.
