The Abu Dhabi authorities have banned certain vehicles from major streets on October 9.
In cooperation with Integrated Transport Center, Abu Dhabi Police announced the ban on social media.
During the morning and evening peak hours of Monday, 9th October, 2023, buses carrying workers with '50 passengers and more' are prohibited from driving in both directions on Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street from Sheikh Zayed Bridge to Sheikh Zayed Tunnel (formerly Al-Qurram Street).
Bans will be implemented during morning peak hours from 6.30am to 9am and evening peak hours from 3pm to 7pm.
Providing traffic confinement and reducing traffic accidents are in line with the authority's purposeful efforts.
Abu Dhabi Police General Command has ordered drivers not to travel during set periods and to obey traffic rules.
In order to track and catch violations through smart systems, the authority will also tighten road surveillance and enforce violations on buses to transport workers.
