From 2024, The UAE Will Ban Single-use Plastic Bags

A blanket ban on single-use plastic shopping bags will be enforced by the UAE from January 1, 2024. A ministerial resolution bans the import, production, and circulation of single-use plastic shopping bags from next year, according to state news agency Wam.
As of January 1, 2026, plastic cups, plates, cutlery, containers, and boxes will be banned in the country.
