Steps to renew the Emirates ID:

1. Create a UAE pass account for yourself:

First of all, you need to create a UAE pass account. It is a drive-by the UAE Government to move more towards smart government systems. As you get your UAE Pass then you can easily log in to the government department's portal. With the help of UAE Pass you can renew your car registration also you can book an appointment for COVID-19 vaccine. 2. Keep all the required documents ready:

After the above process you'll be needing the following documents to upload:

1. Coloured photo

2. Front and back page of your passport

3. Residence visa copy

4. Old Emirates ID Card - front and back

In case you are applying for the Emirates ID of your dependent’s, then also you would need to have a copy of your own Emirates ID (front and back) ready to upload.

3. Go for the online process to start the service:

Either you can go with the ICA Website or with the smartphone application "ICA UAE" available on IOS and Android phones.

 

If you select the option to login through UAE Pass then you'll be asked to log in and then redirected to UAE Pass app on your mobile phone. For identity verification, either facial technology or verification through pin may use.

Once the identity verification is done you will be redirected back to the ICA app or website, where you will now be able to access your dashboard.

4. Select the service "Renew Emirates ID"

Under the Emirates ID category, its renewal option will be given. You need to choose that option. This would include your own Emirates ID as well as those of the family members or domestic workers that you have under your sponsorship. Select ‘Renew Emirates ID’.

5. Upload the required documents mentioned above. Along with that you can add where you would like to receive the Emirates ID, either at your home or office or collect it from an Emirates Post office near you. Delivery charges will be applicable.

6. Pay the charges:

You would then have to make the vital payment, which would rely upon the duration of your visa which is the same as the duration of your Emirates ID because both are linked. For a 2 years visa, you would have to pay Dh200 for the card issuance along with Dh40 as service charges.

For the Golden Visa, which is substantial for 10 years, the expense would be Dh1,000 for card issuance and Dh40 as service charges.

7. After completion of the above process, you will receive an email notification regarding the application that has been submitted. It takes a few hours to approve the application. And after approval, you will be able to access the digital copy of your Emirates ID through the ICA app.

8. The digital copy of your Emirates ID can be used for other government processes. The ICA had asked all service providers to acknowledge the digital copy of the new Emirates ID, which individuals can access through the ICA application, for identity verification purposes.

9. Get the physical copy of your Emirates ID

 When the Emirates ID application has been approved, it will be sent to be printed by the ICA. Whenever it is ready, you will get a notification by means of email and SMS.
