For nearly four decades, Emirati pilots Colonel Mohammed Al Hashimi and Colonel Muhammed Al Ghanem have been dedicated to humanitarian missions, ranging from flood responses in Pakistan and Libya to delivering aid to Gaza. Both are products of the UAE Air Force and have served for 36 years in the cockpit of Dubai Air Wing's C130 Hercules aircraft. They began their careers as fighter pilots, but when the UAE acquired the C130 Hercules in the 1980s, their roles shifted to flying this cargo plane, which became a central part of their lives. Over the years, they've undertaken numerous missions, delivering aid to disaster-stricken areas across the globe, accumulating a significant amount of flying hours dedicated to serving humanity. Their careers have evolved with advances in navigation technology, making their missions more efficient. Despite approaching retirement, both pilots remain passionate about their work and their trusty aircraft, the C130 Hercules.
