The General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments of Dubai Police educated, trained, and rehabilitated 946 inmates in the first half of 2022 to provide them with the skills and abilities they need to start afresh after serving their time.

At the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions, the Department of Inmates Education and Training is divided into four sections:

- For inmates wishing to complete their education at any stage or specialization, the Educational Programmes Section provides educational facilities, courses, and materials

- The Religious Programmes Section spreads religious awareness through lectures, seminars, courses, and workshops for memorizing the Quran

- Inmates are provided with TV subscriptions and sports activities throughout the year through the Sports Programmes Section.

- Inmates can learn vocational and technical skills in the Occupational Training Section that will assist them in obtaining jobs after they are released

According to Major Muhammad Abdullah Al Obaidly, director of the Inmates Education and Training Department, 946 inmates benefited from the department's educational and occupational programs during the first half of this year. Aside from photography workshops and 3D modelling courses, the programmes included English and Arabic arts festivals, computer courses, Arabic language courses, Reading Clubs, and the Ramadan Sports Tournament.
