
Commemoration Day and National Day holidays will be observed by the private sector from December 1 to December 3, 2022, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre).
As part of implementation of the UAE Cabinet resolution on public holidays for the public and private sectors for 2021 and 2022, ministry officials announced a three-day official paid holiday.
In the UAE, Sunday is a holiday, so work will resume on Monday, December 5. For those who have a Sunday off, this would work out to a four-day weekend.
Both the public and private sectors have been granted equal leave by the UAE Cabinet. The decision ensures that employees of both sectors get an equal number of official holidays.
The UAE officially celebrates Commemoration Day on November 30 to honor its martyrs and recognize their sacrifices. However, the holiday for Commemoration Day is clubbed together with the National Day break.
It will be the last official holiday of the year. New Year's Day - Gregorian New Year - is the first official holiday of 2023.
