Sharjah's government has announced the official holiday dates to mark Prophet Muhammad's (Peace be upon him) birthday. Public sector employees will get paid holidays from Thursday, September 28.

Sharjah government employees get a three-day weekend off (from Friday to Sunday), so the holiday translates to a four-day weekend. Employees will resume work on Monday, October 2.

Federal government employees and private sector employees in the rest of the UAE will have a day off on Friday, September 29. As the National Day holidays fall on December 2 and 3 - Saturday and Sunday - this will be the last long weekend in the UAE.
