Sharjah Police are searching for a 17-year-old boy from Pakistan who vanished five days ago. Abdullah left his home in Abu Shagara at 4.15pm last Sunday for a routine errand but hasn't been seen since. His family has filed a missing person's report.

Abdullah's father, Mohammad Ali, who operates a used car business, said he sent his son to a furniture market nearby for a carpenter to make some repairs at their place, but Abdullah never returned. "We've searched everywhere, but there's no sign of him," he told Khaleej Times.

Abdullah was last seen wearing a black shirt and grey trousers. Ali mentioned that Abdullah didn't take his cellphone or wallet, assuming he'd return quickly from the furniture market.

Ali emphasised the challenges posed by the recent floods, making it impossible to use their car to search for Abdullah. He said, "The flooded streets have hindered our efforts. Today I had to walk to the police station just to get updates. I left home at 5.30am, right after morning prayers."

Abdullah, one of twin boys, is part of a family that includes his father, Ali, a UAE resident for 26 years, along with his two other children: a 20-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son.

"We're all missing him dearly. My wife, Ayesha, has barely eaten and is constantly crying and praying for his safe return," Ali said.

"The disappearance is particularly puzzling because my son didn't seem upset or troubled before leaving. He simply stepped out, expecting to return soon."

The police urge anyone with information to come forward and inform authorities.
