A 50 percent discount on traffic fines has been announced by Sharjah, the fourth emirate to do so. Between December 1, 2022, and January 20, 2023, motorists can take advantage of the reduced fee.

Violations committed before December 1, 2022 are eligible for the discounted fine.

Following a decision by the Sharjah Executive Council, the announcement was made on the occasion of the 51st National Day celebrations in the UAE.

It will take effect on December 1, 2022, and last until January 20, 2023.

Sharjah Police Commander-in-Chief Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi said that the police have begun taking all measures to implement the decision on time. It appears that all violations committed before December 1, 2022 are included in the decision, except for the serious ones.

Sharjah Police's Chief Al Shamsi also expressed his commitment to supporting the Sharjah government's efforts to provide all services to residents, with a focus on alleviating the financial burdens of community members and providing them with legal assistance.

Also, the top official urged motorists to abide by the laws and regulations, pointing out that fines increase the financial burden on individuals.
