Investing in various sectors in the UAE will be guided by an integrated platform adopted by the UAE Cabinet. It will highlight investment opportunities in financial technology, tourism, manufacturing and renewable energy, among others, under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy.

In Ajman's Al Zorah Nature Reserve, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, presided over a Cabinet meeting.

By identifying the most prominent features of the targeted sectors, the platform will highlight the country's capabilities. There will be opportunities for investors in agricultural technology, healthcare, education, communications and information technology, media and entertainment, e-commerce, space, logistics, medical tourism, creative industries, smart cities, and other strategic sectors on the electronic platform.

Standards for sustainability

In addition, the Cabinet approved a policy on federal building regulations. Sheikh Mohammed tweeted that it defined sustainability standards for roads, buildings and houses. The goal is to reduce the use of natural resources and our carbon footprint, as well as enhance sustainability standards for buildings in the UAE."

Regulations aim to reduce natural resource consumption by 15%, carbon footprint by 5%, energy needs on roads by 45 percent, energy use in buildings by 25%, and water consumption by 16 percent.

Lifestyles that promote health

A national policy promoting healthier lifestyles was also approved by the Cabinet. A healthy environment promotes and protects the rights of all persons of all ages, and prevents diseases associated with unhealthy lifestyles. The authorities will raise community awareness about the benefits of adopting a healthier lifestyle.

As part of the smart health initiative announced during the Cabinet meeting, authorities will be able to offer health services remotely. In addition to smart medical advice and diagnosis, prescriptions and dispensing of medical products, and remote medical interventions, controls and conditions will be established.

A campaign to clean up tourist destinations and landmarks in the UAE was also approved by the Cabinet. The Ministry of Community Development and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment will implement the campaign. In collaboration with the Emirates Environmental Group, officials, ministers and work teams from federal and local authorities will take part in the event from December 5 to 15.
