Emiratisation Targets Expand to Over 12,000 Companies Across 14 Sectors in the UAE
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) has extended Emiratisation target rules to more than 12,000 companies operating in 14 specific economic sectors. These companies, each employing 20-49 workers, are mandated to hire at least one UAE citizen in 2024 and another in 2025. Mohre notified the firms through its digital system, granting them ample time to meet the stipulated targets.
The targeted companies span diverse sectors such as information and communications, finance and insurance, real estate, education, healthcare, and more. Mohre urges swift compliance with Emiratisation goals, emphasizing the importance of early adherence to avoid fines.
Fines of Dh96,000 per UAE citizen not employed in 2024 will be levied starting January 2025, with Dh108,000 fines for 2025 targets enforced in January 2026. Companies may opt for installment plans to settle fines. Mohre encourages targeted companies to register on the Nafis platform for support in recruiting qualified Emirati professionals.
The Ministry plans to conduct training workshops to guide companies on meeting targets and leveraging Nafis platform benefits. This Emiratisation initiative complements ongoing efforts for companies with 50 or more employees, requiring a 2% annual growth in Emiratisation of skilled jobs.
