As we enter the best season of the year, families are taking advantage of the three-week-long school break, some even flying out to enjoy the holidays. The glorious UAE winters, however, attract many residents who prefer to avoid the holiday travel rush and enjoy the glorious weather instead.
During the holiday season, parents are also on the lookout for winter camps to keep their children entertained during term break. These camps come with exciting and fun-filled activities for kids to enjoy the break while learning and developing new skills.
You can keep your child busy this holiday season by enrolling them in one of these multidisciplinary winter camps:
Camp with a variety of specialties
Children will be able to participate in activities tailored to their interests at Eduscan camps. Public speaking, memory and concentration, mindfulness, brain gym, singing, dancing, karate, swimming, ice skating, and stage performances are all included in the leadership camp.
Winter camp begins on 12 December and ends on 30 December 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It will be held at Apple International Community School - Karama, Ibn Battuta Gate - Ibn Battuta Mall, Gulf Model School - Muhaisnah 4, and Alshola Private School - National Paint in Sharjah.
Camp on the arts during the winter
This winter camp, organized by Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), provides children with wide expressive spaces that motivate them to be creative and explore the world of art over a 10-day period. Dubai Culture is committed to nurturing an environment where children can discover the magic of sustainable arts and crafts.
A winter camp at Dubai Public Library will take place from 12 to 27 December, during which children will be exposed to colour, culture, and art forms, such as collage, decoupage, mixed media, and other forms, enriching children's imagination and unleashing their creativity and expression talents.
The winter camp will teach children the basics of Arabic calligraphy. Additionally, they will learn how to draw with coffee, saffron, natural materials, watercolours, ink, and hide defects, as well as how to recycle materials and old objects.
Children will learn how to grow fish, how to use aquaponics, how to embroider with needle and frame, how to draw on fabrics, and how to spin and weave using a loom, as well as how to make soap using various materials, in the workshops.
Camps for astronomy
During the last week of December, Dubai Astronomy Group will hold a winter astronomy camp. It will consist of a combination of hands-on activities and movie shows.
People can check their social media handles for more details on pricing, etc.
